Gallathea

Dir. Louis Altman

Things are not always what they seem in the woods.

Gallathea is a fun concoction of goofy boys, sassy gods, and first love.

Join us at the Shenandoah LGBTQ Center at 6:30 PM on April 17th for this fun, quick-witted play.

The Widow of Valencia

Dir. Sydney Brooke Crittenden

Leonarda, a beautiful widow in the town of Valencia, Spain, struggles with her commitment to her late husband and the urge to begin the next chapter of her life. She becomes enamored with a man, Camilo, and comes up with a plan to see him while hiding her identity. They meet in the dark with the help of her waiting man and woman. As Camilo schemes to find out the identity of his lover, many plots ensue as other suitors attempt to woo Leonarda. In this Spanish Golden Age play, inspired by the Greek myth Cupid and Psyche, the characters pursue what they want while navigating around the structures that would otherwise restrain them. After all, “What won’t a determined woman do for the sake of her pleasure?”
