Romance meets ragtime in Shakespeare’s classic comedy, Much Ado About Nothing!
In the aftermath of WWI, returning soldiers expect a peaceful homecoming to an uncomplicated world of ease and leisure. Instead, class, love, and gender collide in a high-energy comedy of gossip and (mis)communication. While Claudio and Hero learn the hard lessons of young love, enemies Beatrice and Benedick stumble their way toward romance - with a little help from their friends! Featuring music, dance, clowning, and puns, this production will challenge and delight audiences of any age.

Content warnings: references to war, death, and violence; depictions of misogyny, verbal abuse, and sexism.
Shakespeare’s adventure of love, family, and ocean voyages comes to life with Streetlight’s adaptation of Pericles.
Drawing on characters and themes from Shakespeare’s play, this devised piece introduces Marina, a young wanderer looking for a place to belong. Along with a vivid and energetic ensemble, these characters take a young audience on an exciting seafaring voyage full of song and movement, community, comfort in difficult times, and kindness.

This 30-minute play is designed for students in grades K-5, and models conflict resolution, emotional regulation and expression, and kindness in community. All content, including conflict, is age-appropriate for K-5.
the honest [wo]man’s revenge, or, the atheist’s tragedy
small scale
In Cyril Tourneur’s twist on the classic revenge plot, the ghost of a murdered father returns—to prevent his child from avenging him! Streetlight’s production of this rarely performed delight is a queer, absurd, genre-blurring, sexy-murder-morality-play, full of cheating wives, accidental death, ghosts (real and fake), prigs, betrayal, wicked plots, and, of course, true love—which ultimately conquers all.

Content warnings: sexual themes, depictions of murder, death, stylised combat, attempted sexual assault, misogyny, homophobia, and forced marriage.

A divided inheritance. A family at war. The desperate need for decency in a broken world. Driven to survive and haunted by the memory of better times, three daughters navigate a complex and cruel future when their father cuts the youngest out of her inheritance. Shakespeare’s epic becomes an American Gothic tale of madness and generational trauma in this turbulent, claustrophobic production, set in Depression-era Appalachia.

Content warnings: depictions of death, murder, mental illness, mutilation, combat, and suicide.
henry vi, part 3, or, the blood-stained rose
small scale
The wheel of history turns, and the cycle of war begins again. In the bloodiest history play Shakespeare ever wrote, two noble families, the Yorks and the Lancasters, are locked in a deadly struggle for the throne of England. Each will do all in their power to ensure that their legacy is one of victory—even if it means committing acts of ruthlessness, betrayal, and unspeakable violence. Is time—and history—on their side?

Content warnings: depiction and discussion of war, violence, murder, sword-fighting, infanticide, ableism, and misogyny.
